How to pair the first POS tablet

Pairing links one tablet to one of your outlet locations. Once paired, the tablet remembers its location — staff only need to enter a PIN per shift.

Steps

  1. 01 Install the Posz POS app on the tablet (Android: download the APK from the Devices page (/devices) in your dashboard; iPad via TestFlight invite). Open the app.
  2. 02 The /setup screen opens automatically. Enter your Posz owner email + password (the one used for the dashboard login). Tap "Continue".
  3. 03 Pick the outlet location for this tablet. With a single outlet, it auto-selects.
  4. 04 Pick the tablet role: POS (full cashier), KDS (kitchen display), Bar (bar display), Solo (small-shop all-in-one), or Expo (plating). Each role shows a different home screen.
  5. 05 Give the tablet a display name (e.g. "Cashier-1" or "Kitchen-Display"). It appears in /devices on the dashboard so the owner can identify which tablet is which.
  6. 06 Done. The tablet is paired. Staff can sign in with their 4-digit PIN on the next shift.

Notes

  • Pairing needs internet only once. After pairing, offline mode activates automatically — orders still queue when WiFi drops and sync when it returns.
  • To un-pair (broken tablet / resale), open /devices on the dashboard, click the tablet → Revoke. The tablet auto-signs-out on its next refresh.
